With a natural application of breath this model can produce clear, authentic clarinet tone. A fine blend of easy playability and excellent pitch makes the YCL-450 an outstanding choice to begin working on expression and nuance, which can significantly shorten the path to proficiency.
The new Yamaha YCL-450M is based on the popular 450S clarinet, but includes enhanced features such as the unique Duet+ technology. Duet+ is original Yamaha technology that produces an ABS resin bore lining originating from oboe design technology. The instrument’s bore is protected by a resin layer that minimizes changes to the internal wood allowing precision to be enhanced for more stable tone and pitch. The likelihood of internal distortion and cracking due to humidity changes is reduced and the instrument provides stable long-term sound and playability.
The upper joint body is drilled out slightly larger around the bore and tone-holes. Thermoplastic ABS resin is injected into the cavity, instantly forming the inner shape.
It is designed to preserve as much as 90% of the wooden portion, while its natural appearance is hardly distinguishable from conventional all-wooden models.
Due to this kind of bore treatment this clarinet has a lighter resistance and an open sound with a mild timbre while also protecting and stabili-sing the inner surface of the upper joint.
The new adjustable thumb-rest with strap ring makes it much more comfortable to hold the instrument.
A new vent tube shape improves pronounciation in the second register. It offers great response, even with low air pressure, making it easy to play even for children.

Pianos - Delivery is FREE within Great Britain for all pianos. The price you see is the price you pay. We use a courier service and aim to have most things delivered within 3 working days.
Doorstep Drop-off only. Pianos are delivered flatpack, usually on a pallet, for self assembly. Please be aware that if you choose our courier service for larger items such as digital pianos, the courier is not contracted to carry items up any steps or stairs. If there are stairs leading to the front door of the delivery address, or you live in an apartment which is not on pavement level, it is your responsibility to arrange for transportation from the pavement level to the delivery address. Please be aware that the box can weigh 60Kg to 120Kg. We recommend that that you have help to move the box to the room of your choice from two or three able-bodied persons. In this instance, the delivery driver may, at their own discretion assist you in carrying the parcels into the delivery address, but they are not contracted nor obliged to do so.
Piano deliveries in Sussex - Subject to availability, we are often able to offer a free, pre-arranged timed delivery and setup service within 50 miles of our shops. With this option pianos are delivered and assembled in your home and the piano is left ready to play.
