In Mozart’s rich achievement in the field of chamber music, the quartets with one wind instrument (flute or oboe, violin, viola and violoncello), from which comes the oboe quartet in F K.370 (368b), certainly occupy the most modest place. This may be because these quartets were all lightly written, often enough unwillingly for a commission, for a specific occasion or for amusement.
During his stay in Munich in 1781 Mozart must often have met the oboist Friedrich Ramm, who was already known to him from the Mannheim period; Ramm was known as one of the foremost oboists of his time, and we know that Mozart had already composed for him the oboe part of the Sinfonia concertante K.Anh.9 (297b). It seems likely, therefore, that the oboe quartet, which shows unmistakable virtuoso characteristics, was written for Ramm for his pleasure or as a virtuoso piece.

Please be aware that the box can weigh 60Kg to 120Kg. We recommend that that you have help to move the box to the room of your choice from two or three able-bodied persons. In this instance, the delivery driver may, at their own discretion assist you in carrying the parcels into the delivery address, but they are not contracted nor obliged to do so.
Piano deliveries in Sussex - Subject to availability, we are often able to offer a free, pre-arranged timed delivery and setup service within 50 miles of our shops. With this option pianos are delivered and assembled in your home and the piano is left ready to play.
